Mickey Mouse Crochet Bunting

We had an end of summer party at my office for everyone who was graduating and moving on to new jobs! One of the best things I have found for throwing parties at work is to divide up the work. So usually we have everyone bring some different food, or pitch in for pizza, and then we do a little decor. It’s super important to keep it simple (lets be honest I am probably the only one who cared that there were cute decorations up). So I just brought a little banner I had from Charlie’s graduation party, and I whipped up this little mickey mouse bunting to go with – one of our employees is headed to  work at Disney so that’s why we chose this theme!

I love things that are super quick to make and look cute too. You can just make one mickey mouse head and use it as a coaster or make a bunch and turn it into bunting! Here is the simple pattern:

STITCHES

  • dc double crochet
  • hdc half double crochet
  • sl st slip stitch

TIPS + TRICKS

  • Hook: H (5 mm)
  • Make sure to sl st after the first dc when you finish each round.
  • I made 7 and strung them together using the same yarn they are made out of. Make it as long or as short as you want!
  • When you sew on the ears, leave about five stitches between them.

FACE

  1. Start with a magic circle of 11 dc, sl st to close and chain 2.
  2. Dc inc (work 2 dc in each stitch) in each stitch around.
  3. [Dc inc, dc] repeat around, sl st to close and chain 2.
  4. Fasten off and leave a tail to sew!

EARS

  1. Start with a magic circle of 11 hdc, sl st to close and chain 2.
  2. hdc inc in each st around, sl st to close.
  3. Fasten off and leave a tail to sew!
